On my small, family-run  farm I grow seasonal flowers, herbs, and grasses to use for farmer's market, grocery retailer, and CSA member bouquets. I also love designing arrangements for personal residences and local businesses.  I really, really love designing for weddings and events!

Back in the day, florists used to grow many of the flowers they arranged and sold themselves. As far back as 1782, James Barclay's Complete and Universal English Dictionary defined a florist as "a person curious and skilled in the names, nature, and culture of flowers."*  That most definitely describes me, and I do consider myself a florist in this traditional sense of the word.

I received formal floral design training from Brook Howsley of Pollen Floral Art in Austin, Texas, and am a proud member of The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.

Audrey Hepburn as 'Eliza Doolittle', the flower peddler in 'My Fair Lady' is the inspiration for and namesake of my company. I someday hope to open a retail floral boutique that would offer exclusively locally and/or fairly traded flowers. So, a double play on the word 'fair' is the story behind 'Fair Eliza's Flowers'.
